Profuse, double pink flowers appear before leaves. Blossoms are 3/4-1" in diameter. Most popular of the weeping cherries. Needs full sunlight.

Habit: Distinctive, graceful, weeping-pendulous habit, branches sweep to the ground; frequently grafted at 6-7' height
Size: 12 - 15' high by 12 - 15' wide
Color: Glossy dark green in summer, changing to a consistent excellent wine red in autumn

Yoshino cherry

A small to medium sized rounded to broad rounded tree highly prized for its outstanding display of light pink to white flowers. Noteworthy plantings exist in the Washington D.C. area.
Habit: Rounded to broad-rounded, with a slight horizontal tiered effect to the branches; older specimens may show some weeping effect; very graceful
Size: Commonly 25-30' high, 40-50' high in Japan
Color: Medium-dark green
Hardiness: Zone 6a - 8 USDA
