Autumn Blaze freeman maple

This is an excellent selection for fall color, structure, cold hardiness and fast growth. The orange-red fall color persists for a long time, and it is more drought and pH tolerant than red maple. It should be included in any list of street and parking lot trees. It represents a great improvement over silver maple.

Habit: Dense oval-rounded with ascending branches ascending at a 45 degree angle when young and slightly wider with age, not as dense as many red maple cultivars.

Acer x freemanii 'Marmo'
Marmo freeman maple

Introduced out of Lisle, Illinois by the Morton Arboretum, this selection has a broad columnar habit and good, early, mottled red fall color. The leaves most closely resemble those of the silver maple but the improved habit and better ornamental features make Marmo a desirable alternative to silver maple.

Crimson King Norway maple

Commonly available, this Norway maple has deep maroon to purple leaves throughout the summer. The other characteristics are similar to the species.
